The best way to get revelation from God's Word is to meditate on them. I decided to meditate on 2 Corinthians 3:18 during my lunch walk today. Here is what the Lord gave me about this verse:
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord." 2 Corinthians 3:18
When I got to "open face," immediately the Lord told me that open face is being totally yourself, not shy, not full of pride, not trying to impress, just being open. Being open is also knowing you are unworthy in yourself, but worthy in Christ. It is knowing who you are in Christ. In other words, wearing your cloak of humility over your robe of righteousness.
When I got to "beholding," the Lord told me when you behold someone or something, you stare at it in total awe. You can't keep your eyes from it. God wants you to behold the glory of the Lord, to behold his beauty, his mercy, his lovingkindness, his patience, his love, his holiness. God wants you to be in awe of his Son.
"As in a glass" means when you are beholding the Lord's glory, you need to see you, because 1 John 4:17, says, as he is, so are we in this world. You are in Christ, so everything he is, you are. Everything he has, you have.
"Are changed into the same image from glory to glory" means as you are seeing you as Jesus is, you are being changed into what you are seeing one glory at a time. As you behold how loving Jesus is, you are being changed into a loving person. As you behold how merciful Jesus is, you are being changed into a merciful person.
"Even as by the Spirit of the Lord" - I love this! It's the Lord's Spirit that changes you! It's not you! And all you have to do is behold Jesus and all that he is, and see yourself the same way. You were made in his image!
