"Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things: But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her."

"Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things: But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her."  You see, the many things you have to do are full of care and troubles, but spending time with Jesus is the good part.  What you learn at the feet of Jesus "shall not be taken away from" you.

As I read this yesterday, I was wondering what "which shall not be taken away from her" meant.  This morning I was talking to God about the difference between memorizing his Word and meditating on his Word.  I have never had peace about memorizing his Word, but I have always been led by him to meditate on his Word.  If you are memorizing his Word, you are just trying to remember words in a certain order, but if you are meditating on his Word, he gives you revelation (deeper truths) from those words.  Then I had this thought, "It is awesome to learn truths from a preacher or a teacher, but when you learn a truth from God's Spirit, that truth can never be taken away from you.  Right after I had this thought, God brought to my mind this verse again, "which shall not be taken away from her."  And then immediately I received in my spirit from God's Spirit a truth from this verse.  God put on my heart that when you hear a truth from a preacher or teacher, you may be able to refute it.  But when God Almighty gives you a truth straight from heaven into your spirit, you cannot refute that.  This truth will never leave your heart, because it was a message from God to you.  I have noticed this in my own life that I do forget things I have learned from preachers and teachers, but I have never forgotten a truth given to me from God's Spirit.   I believe this is one of the reasons it is called a personal relationship with Christ.  He personally not only wants to meet all of your needs, he also wants to personally teach you all truth.  Do you want to draw closer to God?  Do you want to hear from heaven?  Meditate on his Word every day!
